Last week, we broke word that Square Enix had shifted announcing its financials from February 6th [[link]] to February 12th due to an accounting delay. Stocks tumbled, and there [[link]] was concern about game delays.

We contacted Square [[link]] Enix, asking them why the 2009 third quarter financial announcement has been delayed, and if it was because either Dragon Quest 9 or Final Fantasy 13 (or both) had been delayed. Square Enix hasn’t changed its tune, replying:
Square Enix Holdings changed the company’s 3rd quarter fiscal year 2009 results announcement from February 6th to February 12th due to a delay in its accounting closing procedure.
